The Maritime Museum sponsors programs and events that bring generations together.
The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum provides unique enriched learning opportunities that bring Louisiana’s maritime history to life. Please support these efforts by becoming a member. All members enjoy unlimited free admission to the museum, a 20% discount in the gift shop, and special opportunities to attend lectures that illustrate the dyanmic and diverse nature of maritime Louisiana. In addition, members get:
- Unlimited visits to the museum exhibits and admission to the lighthouse (anticipated in 2010).
- Free admission to special museum programs, including lectures and concerts.
- Special volunteer opportunities (archaeology, lighthouse restoration, school field trips, educational programs, gift shop) and volunteer field trips (in 2009 visiting the Vessel Traffic Center, Waterway Division of U.S. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans).
- Fun and camaraderie at a broad spectrum of events held each year.
- Updates via the quarterly newsletter Shipways and periodic emails.
