Got Bot?
Well the Museum Does . . .
The summer 2009 Aquatic Robotics Program was a tremendous success thanks to partnerships with Southeastern Louisiana University, SeaTrepid, Oceaneering, and Mike’s Hardware.
Twelve students ranging in age from 11 to 17 years old had the opportunity not only to meet with some of the greatest ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles) manufactures and operators in Louisiana, but they also built their very own underwater robots (or “bot”) to take home! The one week Aquatic Robotics Program immersed students in the world of ROVs and underwater exploration. The program included construction of a robot, visits from an underwater archaeologist and ROV operators, and field trips to ROV facilities such as Sea Trepid and Oceaneering.
