Tchefuncte Tribute Gala, May 30!

The 2nd Annual Tchefuncte Tribute Gala will be held on May 30th, 7 – 11 pm.  The band Twilight will be performing,The-Tchefuncte-Tribute-2nd-Annual-FINAL-e Poster approximately 20 restaurants, a margarita bar, a silent auction and lots of fun!  Tickets are $75 per person or $800 for a RESERVED table of 8.  Please contact us for further information.  The Gala benefits the Tchefuncte River Foundation and the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum.

Mermaid at the Maritime Museum, Saturday, April 25

Bring the kids out to meet a mermaid! Children’s book author and part-time Megan Larmann will be at the museum gift shop to sign copies of her book, The Mermaid of Lake Pontchartrain. Pick up a copy for the little mermaid or fisherman in your life! Event will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 12pm-2pm.

“Susan Thurston’s Tea”, an Afternoon Tea Near the Cottage, April 9

A new group of the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum has been unveiled, Friends of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage. This group is comprised of local and state individuals in an effort to refurbish and restore the Tchefuncte River lighthouse keeper’s cottage. Friends of the Lighthouse Keeper’s Cottage will launch its first event with the “Susan Thurston’s Tea”, an afternoon tea on the grounds near the cottage.

The tea will be Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 2-4:30pm. To be a part of this wonderful group or to reserve your seat for the tea, please call LPBMM at (985)845-9200 or email educator@lpbmm.org. Reservations to the tea is $35 for single reservations and $280 to reserve a table (8 seats).

Winning Children’s T-Shirt Design Reveal Scheduled Saturday, September 27

Saturday, September 27 at 10:00 am the Maritime Museum will host the public unveiling of the winning t-shirt design from the Children’s Village Art contest.There was over 150 beautiful entries in the themes of “25th Annual Wooden Boat Festival” and “Louisiana Plants and Animals” from grades Kindergarten through 6th grade from all over St. Tammany parish. The judges told us they had a very hard time deciding on the winners. The Grand Prize winning design will be on the official Children’s Village T-shirt for this year’s Wooden Boat Festival and will be on sale at the Festival and in the Maritime Museum’s gift shop.  We would like to thank everyone that submitted a design and we hope you will join on to see the reveal of the winning design!
